Sweet Tea and Rooibos

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies!

2 dozen cookies

Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

“Wet” Ingredients:

16 TBSP butter, softened

1 ¼ cup brown sugar

½ cup granulated sugar

3 eggs

1 TBSP vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Put butter in microwave safe bowl, and microwave until softened.  (20-30 seconds.)
  2. Add sugars and mix until combined. (You want the sugars to start dissolving into the butter so that your cookies aren’t grainy.)
  3. Add eggs and vanilla and mix thoroughly.

“Dry” Ingredients:

3 ½ cups flour

¾ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Add flour, soda and salt on top of the wet ingredients, take a fork, and mix all the dry ingredients together, before mixing them thoroughly into the wet ingredients.

Extra Add-Ins:

2 cups Chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Stir in your chocolate chips.

(You can substitute 1 cup white chocolate chips and 1 cup cranberries for a variation.)

  • Roll dough into ¼ cup sized balls. Spread cookie-dough-balls onto a baking sheet, approximately 2.5 inches apart.
  • Bake at 325 degrees until the edges are golden, but the centers are still soft. (15-20 minutes.)  Remove from oven and let rest at least 10 minutes before you eat.
